I love soldering and creating 3D pieces of work.
A bird I've never seen is a Swallow, I hope one day Il see one but until then I shall use these beautiful birds in my work.
I have hand cut glass pieces to create this miniature bird box. This angled decoration measures 2x1x1 inches. I have added chain at the top so it can be hung up. The glass sections have been soldered using lead free solder.
Inside is an image of a glorious Swallow against a vintage bird book backdrop, complete with the words Home Sweet Home. I have made a nest in the base using twigs (treated, not from the garden). The fantasy nest is also made up of skeleton leaves and diamante for added sparkle. I've moulded an egg and covered it in beautiful holographic glitter. I have kept the side panels of the is piece clear so you can look inside.
Under the bird box hangs a length of chain featuring a flower charm and a Swarovski crystal element ab coated bead.
This would make an ideal gift for a nature loving friend, or as a gift for a new home.
