As the owner of the company I have been making Sussex Trugs for 31 years and I am inspired by all the people who buy one of our Trugs. I work with a committed team of Craftsmen and Apprentices and we all enjoy meeting customers in our workshop, retail shop and at the shows we do in the U.K. and mainland Europe. People from all over the World send us photos of their Trug collections and it is so gratifying to know that what we create makes people happy.

Full description
Trugs were first made in the 1820's by our founder, Thomas Smith in his house at Windmill Hill, Herstmonceux. When exhibiting them at the Great Exhibition in Hyde Park, London, in 1851 he was lucky enough to catch the eye of Queen Victoria who bought some there and then as gifts for members of the Royal Household. We are the only company ever to be able to call our products "Royal" as Smith was awarded Queen Victoria's royal warrant.
A good, all purpose, our Garden Trug of a size that is suitable for ladies and men. With handles and rims of sweet chestnut coppiced in East Sussex, and cricket bat willow from around England, our Trugs are made almost entirely by hand in the time honoured fashion. Light in weight but capable of holding lots of fruit and vegetables our Garden Trug is also perfect for cut flowers. Guaranteed for five years from date of purchase.
We are happy to send out Trugs anywhere in the World.
Designed by Robin Tuppen in Herstmonceux, East Sussex, England
