I love to felt and embroider these designs using for inspiration my collection of hand-dyed felt and fibres and my horde of embroidery threads - some of them vintage

Full description

NOW £15 (previously £20)

An intensely stitched design of roses and daisies, on a felted background, edged by blanket stitch in blue crochet cotton, forms this striking textile necklace.

'Rose shaped' patches of lovely hand-dyed felt, in shades of pale blue, have been felted to a background of 'eco' felt ( commercially produced from recycled plastic bottles) using an embellisher machine. Patches of hand dyed fibres, and 'teased out' yarns have been added to the felting. The design has been enhanced by hand embroidery, using a variety of threads, some of them vintage. The design has been framed by blanket stitch in pale blue crochet cotton.

The necklace is backed with a second layer of eco felt. The necklace closes by tying a pretty bow in the pale blue velvet ribbon ties - allowing the necklace to be adjusted to fit.

Depth of embroidered 'bib' panel at front centre - 6.5 cm approx

Width of back 'opening' when laid out flat (as in image 4) - 17 cm approx

Length of each ribbon tie - 45 cm approx

Items of embroidered jewellery may not be colourfast - care should be taken to avoid getting them wet in use to avoid colour transfer.
