I love the elegant shape of these waders and the summer plumage is a beautiful colour with its brown, orange and cream tones.

This bird is hand carved, painted with acrylics and finished to a soft shine with wax. It has hand coloured glass eyes and is mounted on a piece of driftwood. It is 32cm tall, 37cm from beak to tail and 9cm deep approx. As with my other pieces, this is painted in a slightly stylised way but still trying to capture the spirit of the bird. This godwit is in its summer plumage.
