I love the rusty tones of this dumpy little wader. It is not as elegant as some of the larger waders but I find it a charming little bird and enjoy making it anyway!

Full description
Hand carved from jelutong and painted with acrylics, this small wading bird has lovely rusty coloured plumage. It has hand coloured glass eyes and is finished to a soft shine with wax.
As with my other birds, I try to catch the spirit of the bird rather than having feather perfect detailing and it is mounted on driftwood. The piece is 13cm tall, 20cm wide and approx. 7cm deep.
