Cormorants are stunning!! They are easy to recognise skimming the sea or basking with wings outstretched near rivers and estuaries.
I love the shape and strong colour and they make a statement wherever they are!
The pearlescent detail gives the black 'feathers' a lift and make them shimmer. This gives the piece a contemporary feel rather than having feather perfect detail.

Full description
This hand carved and painted cormorant stands 41cm tall and 20cm wide overall. The base is 8cm deep and the bird is 6cm deep making it ideal for a narrow shelf. It has been painted with acrylics and a pearlescent feathering detail has been used giving a lovely effect along with the soft shine of the wax finish. It has hand coloured glass eyes and is mounted on driftwood.
