Although my real love is for making sea birds and waders, occasionally I can't resist throwing in a kingfisher as they are so bright and cheerful. Each bird I make is unique and this one has turned out really well and I am very happy with it.

Full description
Hand carved and painted, this kingfisher is sitting on a driftwood tree stump. The piece is 16cm tall overall, 12cm wide and 6cm deep approx. and the kingfisher is life size. The wood is jelutong and the glass eyes are black. I used acrylic paints and it is finished to a soft shine with wax.
