I love to create things with textiles and I devised this kit for children as something easy, but with lots of scope for them to create; an imagination stretching introduction to sewing.
They could enjoy the process without having to reproduce a specific design.
It was so well liked I had parents asking for more to take home; and quite a few couldn’t resist making one themselves!
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.

It’s an owl, cat or monster thing- you decide; each one will be absolutely unique to you; this is not “join-the-dots” sewing that replicates someone else’s style.. (Please contact me for fabric choice; otherwise default is image 1).
A 6” owl or cat shape, ideal as a starter hand sewing project; great for cuddles, guarding keyboards or even (shhh) as a large pincushion!
It’s very easy and produces satisfyingly quick results. (I’ve seen 7 year olds manage this in a couple of hours.) You can sew it all by hand; or if you prefer or are learning to use a machine it is very easy to stitch.
The KIT contains everything needed to complete your softie except scissors.
A basic shape in easy sew vintage fabric, filling (BS 5852)
A mini concertina step by step instruction booklet plus email support and extra ideas.
A paper replica of a vintage needle case, containing a needle and pearl headed pins.
Enough bits and bobs for plenty of design choice for your creature( and lots left for another with your own fabric); consisting of buttons, felt and extra pieces of vintage fabric, feathers, strands of wool and embroidery threads as shown in the photos. They may vary slightly but will always be at least this amount and variety. I can send a photo of your “custom” kit if you wish.
I include email support and access to extra printable A4 extension pages in a PDF tutorial; giving more options for a variety of ability (and patience) levels
