I've recently got into making tea cosies, started with one for myself for my work teapot, made a couple on request for a friend, I then found I couldn’t stop so here I am with a folksy shop!
I saw this beautiful green yarn and it felt very springlike to me. I happened to be making daffodil heads for something else and I knew they belonged together.

Full description
Novelty tea cosy crocheted in acrylic DK yarn, this pretty daffodil covered cosy will bring spring to your afternoon tea, even on the dullest of days.
I made it to fit a medium sized 4-6 cup teapot, Price & Kensington brand to be specific but does also fit the other generic teapots in my large arsenal of spouty ceramics I use as models for my woolly wonders.
There is a hole at the front for the spout and a flap at the back with button closure to allow for the handle
Will it keep your tea hot?
Erm, maybe not as much as you'd like. It is only a single layer of yarn (although the daffodil flowers on the top do give a thicker insulation in that area). It will keep it hotter than using nothing at all but not as hot as a lined, insulated one. If you are serving the full pot within 40-50mins, you should be just fine.
I will do what I can with the packaging to avoid it but the daffodils may arrive looking a little sad and crushed from the trauma of the journey. They will pull back into shape, just a little tug on each of the petals and the trumpets and it'll be as beautiful as ever!
It can be washed by hand. For my own personal ones I only spot wash the tea stains under a tap with a dot of washing-up liquid. Never had a problem doing that.
PLEASE NOTE, LISTING IS FOR THE TEA COSY ONLY TO FIT YOUR OWN 4-6 CUP (2 pint/1.2 litre) TEAPOT
Will post using Royal Mail Tracked 48.
