These bear head tealight holders were a really fun experiment and learning curve in my ceramics journey. I had an image in my head and these are the result. I used a lot of techniques I hadn't tried before and had a lot of fun making them.

Full description
These little ceramic bear head light domes are 'two of a kind'. I made these two while wanting to try out some new pottery techniques.
How were they made?
I started by throwing a closed form on the wheel, slowly closing in the top of the cylinder until it met in the middle. After a little drying time, I carefully cut the tops off to create a bottom and a lid and then turned a flange so the lid fit nicely on the base. Holes were poked for the eyes and smaller holes for the light to shine through and ears and nose were added with extra clay.
After the bisque fire, I glazed the outsides teddy bear brown and the insides are a lovely light green jade colour and they went in for their second fire.
Why are they in the seconds and samples sale?
Although these turned out just how I'd pictured and there's nothing wrong with them, they took a lot longer than I anticipated to make and therefore wont be making anything similar in the future.
Also, the 'tealight' holders come with a small LED light to go inside, I would not recommend using an actual lit tealight as the ceramic top will get very hot and there is no opening to remove or blow out the candle.
This ornament measures 8cm across and 8cm high
