Full description
One of a kind sewing themed wall hanging created using a vintage Simplicity pattern and a piece of vintage patchwork. Backed and edged with reclaimed fabric.
I found a lovely old Simplicity pattern for a 60s style cocktail dress. Amongst my selection of vintage fabric I had an old hand made patchwork cushion cover. The colours of the patchwork and one of the dresses on the pattern were just made for each other. I've hand the sewn the cutout dress, the Simplicity logo with price and a piece from the paper pattern showing how t make the cummerbund. I stitched hand stitched them onto the quilted fabric, added lace to the bottom of the cutout dress, a length of matching ribbon and a few buttons. I had stitched a piece of floral reclaimed fabric for the backing and edging. A few lengths of ribbon make hangers to hanging from a piece of dowel. A length of pink and white string finishes it to hang from your sewing room wall.
This was great fun to make - not perfect but it was made with love and would be a lovely gift for any sewer.
Not including the hangers the piece measures 9 ins x 11 ins.
