I spend as much time outside as possible, hiking, rock climbing, wildlife watching, and generally ambling about. Some of my favourite and unexpected wildlife sightings include spotting adders. Every time I have found one I have been fascinated by their beauty, elusiveness, and the bad rep they have. Equally, folklore has also always caught my attention, as it transforms wildlife into mystical sentient beings. I wanted to capture their detail and challenge the misconceptions people have placed on these shy animals throughout time.

Full description
This print is inspired by the folklore surrounding the elusive adders sunbathing around the British countryside.
"Adder Folk Print" is created using relief printing with a carved lino block, using Calico Safewash Ink. Each print is handprinted therefore will carry slight variations which add to the unique individuality of every print. These are printed onto lightweight natural handmade mulberry paper with long fibres and dried flowers, making each sheet unique and textured.
If there are other colours preferred than the ones portrayed, I am open to messages to see what I can accommodate.
The print will be sent with a backboard, wrapped in recycled brown paper, and placed inside a backboard envelope. My aim is to use no plastic, and as much recycled or handmade products are possible.
The printed ink dimensions are roughly 20cm x 15.5cm, the paper is roughly 22cm x 17cm. All prints are signed and numbered.
The frame is not included.
