Having retired some 8 years ago and looking for a hobby. I was drawn to the many products that I could make with the right equipment and available materials. Having been a management consultant involved in health and safety and the environment I decided to set up a fully functional workshop which included a lathe, bench saw, pillar drill etc. to date I have concentrated on building more expertise and widening the pen range with various materials

Full description
We hand turn biros and fountain pens on a lathe at our local workshop. Recent additions include pens made from cellulose acetate which come from a World renowned Le Mans pen workshop and date back to the 1930/40s. These blanks allow for a high polish to be undertaken. We use various styles of pen metals and woods from overseas markets. These include woods such as Thuya burr, Indian rosewood, olive, ambroyna etc. We have had compliments from previous buyers with limited hand use who find the larger pens more easier to use.
