The Lady of Shalott has always been one of my favourite poems. It was written by Lord Alfred
Tennyson, who was born in Somersby, in the Lincolnshire Wolds, not far from where I live.

Below the carven stern she wrote,
The Lady of Shalott.

I have handmade these glass cabochon earrings featuring John William Waterhouse's "The Lady of Shalott" in a Pre-Raphaelite style and thought to be inspired by a poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson. Above the charms are Czech glass spindles in toning shades and they have antiqued brass hooks.
