As a lover of folklore and symbolism, I came across the Dogu sculptures that date back to the Jomon period in Japan, 13,000-300 BC.

This was a time when people believed in deities and spirits found in nature and worshiped them for a range of reasons such as protection, health, harvest and to ward off evil or trickster spirits.

I've created these figures as a talisman or guardian for your home.

Full description

The Dogu figurines are one of the earliest examples of ancient Japanese ceramics and this is one of my interpretations of a Dogu. Small and curvy.

They are thought to be female, come in various shapes and are believed to symbolize and promote good health and protection.

Size (approx): 7cm x 5 cm, size and shape vary slightly as they are all handmade.
