I am an avid paddle-boarder and camper. I have paddle-boarded numerous areas and islands in Scotland. Jura is on my list for this Summer.

I am very pleased with how this picture has turned out. The colours are rich and deep, and with it being glass it shimmers as you pass by.

Full description

COMPLETELY UNIQUE AND 100% HANDMADE IN GLASS.

From the maker: £66.50. From the gallery: £89.00

'Simplistic, subtle, and visually stunning'

'PAPS OF JURA' is a subtle mix of swirling shades of white/turquoise blue, with the mountains contrasted in black. The actual isle has been very carefully painted using finely ground powdered glass. The foreground is vanilla coloured glass frit set against the streaky blue/turquoise of the sea. A tiny bit of bling has been added by scattering little sections of dichroic glass amongst the sand and rocks. Once the picture was completed it was then fused in my kiln at 1400 where all sections became one!

'Paps of Jura' took me approximately 4 hours to make. A lot of time was spent just stepping back from the picture to see how each piece of glass settled into the final composition.

I am pleased with the final picture. It has a kind of tranquil soft quality to it.

Frame: 32.3cm width x 23.5cm height x 2.3cm thickness.

Picture: 2cm width x 11.7cm height x 6mm thickness (100% glass).
