All the Yunomi cups are aesthetically pleasing to hold which is enhanced by the Kurinuki technique.
Put simply, they are just very beautiful little cups.
The Kurinuki ceramic technique creates surface textures that ranges from very subtle to very bold, very soft and natural to very industrial and angular.
It teaches the maker to be intuitive and free with the making and carving and produces some really stunning and often surprising results but always unique.

Full description
A traditionally styled Yunomi cup formed using the Kurinuki technique of carving and hollowing from a single block of clay.
I love the flashes of colour.
Higanbana is a plant of the amaryllis family (amaryllis is the glaze used on this cup) It is a flower of the Autumn Equinox and the Buddhist holiday of Ohigan, which is a time when we honour ancestors.
All cups are hand made and have quirks in the texture and form that make them unique and adhere to the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi and the beauty of imperfection. No two cups will ever be exactly the same.
The type of cup was traditionally created for drinking tea but can be used for your drink of choice.
Size: approx 7.5cm x 7.5cm
Capacity: approx 200ml
Food Safe. Hand wash only
All cups are gift boxed.
