Full description
This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
One of my very own designs and I think it is quite stunning and very special.
I've made 4 little square tiles and filled each with a seasonal flower. Yellow daffodil for spring, pink lily for summer, red dahlia for autumn and white snowdrop for winter.
The tile backgrounds are in keeping with the season with blues for spring and summer, streaky blue for autumn and frosty clear for winter.
I've framed the 4 small tiles with a gentle green and added bright blue corners as contrast.
This piece comprises 56 individually cut and shaped and copper foiled pieces of glass.
The outer square is framed with a strengthening border of twisted wire.
This is beautifully bright, simple and cheerful and casts lovely colours when it hangs in the light of a window.
It is 17 cm square and hangs from a strong silvery chain which is securely attached at either side of the top.
My pieces are all unique. I use different shades and textures of glass to ensure that everything I make, even when to the same pattern, is different.
The last photo shows this flower tile suncatcher together with 2 leaf panels, green and autumnal also for sale as separate listings.
This floral version is priced higher than the leaves as it is a little bigger and has quite a lot more pieces. The more pieces, the longer it takes me to painstakingly make them.
