Full description
Two beautiful big buttons! In a stunning blue-green colour that shimmers in the light, and possibly intended to mimic malachite or marble, I believe these preloved vintage buttons are from the 40s or 50s. Perfectly useable as functional fastenings for clothing, these are also ideal for decorative textile arts.
Designed to be sewn on flat (with holes rather than a shank), they have a deep profile and would probably have been worn on a coat.
The different heights and the contrast of surface textures give these buttons a carved look, with the shiny central dome and engraved outer rim set off perfectly by the deep duller middle section.
They are in very good condition. One button has off-centre stitching holes - this will be less apparent if a matching colour thread is used to sew it on.
Material: plastic - most mid century plastic buttons were Casein which was made from milk protein.
Size: 34mm (1 and a half inches) diameter.

Each button is carefully sorted and cleaned, and carefully sewn to card tags to help protect them.
