This fleece is from a local flock. It is part of my exploration for different fleeces and their uses.

Full description
This is a 50g bag of fleece from the Black Nose Valais sheep. It has been hand washed, but processed no further. The fleece is mainly creamy white with some discoloration to the tips.
Black Nose Valais sheep originate in the Valais region of Switzerland, where they are highly adapted to the rough mountainous terrain. With their curly white wool and distinctive black noses, the certainly have the 'cute factor'!
The fleece is fairly coarse, with an average micron count of 38. It is often referred to as carpet grade wool, so it is lovely and hard wearing for making rugs and other furnishings.
