This is a 50g bag of Red Fox sheep fleece which has been hand washed but processed no further.
Red Fox Sheep are native to Germany and are sometimes known as the Coburg Fox sheep. They get their name from the lambs being born with a foxy red coat, this turns to a creamy colour with flecks of red as they mature.
Red Fox fleece is good for spinning, producing a robust yarn. The staple length is approximately 10cm, it has a good crimp and loft and has a micron count of 33-36. This is a shearling fleece, so it is on the softer end of this scale.
