My inspiration came from a commission from a family member to make something with a needle craft theme to gift as a momento to celebrate a special birthday to their fellow needle craft group.

Full description
I turned this English Oak and English Ash piece on my lathe made from three pieces of wood. I hollowed out the top with a forstner bit to sit the pin cushion which I made from some pretty bumble bee and strawberry cotton material and stuffed with hollow fibre filling and glued using a hot gun to fix it into the hollow of the wood and finished with piping around the outer edge.
The English Ash mid-section, I turned down to a smaller size where I attached the needle case with Velcro using matching material to the pin cushion, I made a wraparound style and tied it off with a red ribbon.
The English Oak bottom section I turned larger to enable the structure to stand alone. I used a vegan friendly Carnauba wax and buffed using a polishing mop.
This item is delivered to you marked using pyrography technics and paperwork to show its originality NC1. The images show the black delivery tube, with the wood dolly.
