Tiger Eye (also called Tiger's-Eye, Tiger's Eye, Tigers Eye or Tiger Iron) is a popular member of the Quartz family that is usually amber to golden-brown, with a silky lustre, and displays 'chatoyancy', or 'cat's eye'- the characteristic vertical flash when it catches the light.
In ancient Egypt, the stone was believed to be all-seeing, and was used for the eyes of deities.
Roman soldiers wore it in battle in the belief it would give them the courage and strength of a tiger.
It is still regarded as a stone of courage, strength and vitality.
Mythology portrays the butterfly as a messenger from the spirit world.
In Chinese lore they represent joy, warmth and transition.
In Christianity they symbolise resurrection, making them a good choice as as an Easter gift.

Full description
Each dainty drop earring features an 8mm quality Austrian crystal butterfly bead in the colour 'peridot', highlighted with 2mm gold vermeil and black onyx, with a 6mm Tigers Eye bead below and a 4mm Tigers Eye bead above.
The beads are threaded onto gold vermeil pins and hung from gold vermeil ear-wires.
The crystal butterfly is a translucent, sparkly, fresh spring green.
The Tiger's Eye beads are a lovely golden brown with good chatoyancy.
Hand made in my home workshop here in beautiful Devon, UK, these would make an ideal gift for a birthday, anniversary, Mother's Day, Valentine's, or keep ithem as a treat for yourself.
These pretty earrings measures approximately 1.25 inches (3cm), excluding the ear-wires.
Your earrings will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a small organza gift bag.
Price includes delivery within mainland UK.
