My inspiration for this shaving stand was to make a shaving stand in strongly contrasting timber and to hold one razor and a shaving brush, but be different than the majority of metal and plastic stand that are available online. I also had access to some offcuts of exotic woods, to make something a little more outrageous. The top for this is different the any of the other stands as it’s based on the letter ‘H’, which gives a neater formal look to the top.

Full description
This Padauk and Zebrano shaving brush and razor stand. It is illustrated with our SB-05 brush and a vintage razor, although the stand will take most modern double edge razors. My idea was to make a stand that would take one razor and a shaving brush out of wood to use the striped grain and colour that Zebrano for the top and its base, which gives a dramatic contrast to the Padauk (vermillion coloured when freshly cut) upright of this stand, we have stamped ‘SHAVE’ on the side of the zebrano top.
Dimensions: 17cm high, 16.5cm long, 8.0cm wide.
Timbers used are from offcuts of different hardwoods wood, Padauk upright, Zebrano top and base, with maple feet, all fixings are stainless steel to reduce any rust from the stand should it get wet. It is coated in epoxy resin to stabilise the timber and protect it from water ingress, then Blonde Shellac lacquered and Carnauba waxed. This item is number SS07 and this is stamped on the underside with my initials. The images show razors and shaving brush that are not included, used for illustration only. This stand is made from organic, natural, solid wood and will distort if put near a heat source such as a radiator, it will also discolour if left in direct sunlight. The item you see here is the one you will receive and I have aimed to provide dimensions which are as accurate as possible. Please note that wood is a natural product and can be affected by its environment.
