Wanting to find something I could make with this gorgeous, vibrant Ikat fabric from Bali I decided it would work very well as a traditional beaded Afghan folding purse. I have had original Afghan purses for many years and found them to be very attractive, unusual and useful in many ways

Full description
Based on the traditional Afghan folded purse this is made from beautiful Ikat fabric from Bali woven on a hand operated loom. Featuring a dark red background with gold, black and blue motifs, this fabric showcases the intricate beauty of traditional ikat weaving. The purse is beaded around the edges and has two internal pockets. When folded closed it is secured by wrapping the ribbon around the purse. Size when closed is 13cm x 10cm. Each pocket is approximately 8cm deep. Works well as a small purse or for storing precious items such as jewellery.
