The inspiration for this brush was for a better shape to fit your hand when whisking the shaving soap. To do this my wife and I collaborated on this item with one carving the shape and the other turning the end for the knot to fit. The red infill is decorative and functional to stabilise the timber in this area.
This shave brush has been developed with my passion for woodworking. Each shaving brush is a one off individual piece hand crafted by myself and Barbara, and reflect the individual tastes and needs for our customers who want something different and bespoke. The brush also complements some of our shaving stands that we make. We use vegan friendly finishes on these brushes where possible.

Full description
This shaving brush made from a locally sourced piece of Maple wood with a red resin vein running through a knot in the wood. A hand carved shape with a turned end, designed to make a comfortable fit to the hand. The finish is achieved by sanding down with grades of sandpaper to a fine grit and sealed using Cellulose Sanding Sealer followed with three coats of Melamine Lacquer and finished with 3 coats of microcrystalline wax. The knot is a 24mm white tipped black synthetic tuxedo bristle knot, as shown.
Every shaving brush is documented and individually numbered. We supply you with a document of authenticity, with your purchase. This one is SB10, which is pyrographed on the handle, as each piece we make is an original hand crafted item. pyrographed on the side of the handle. Size of Holder 90mm high x 40mm diameter approximately.
Size of Knot 60mm long x 24mm diameter approximately. Overall length of brush 150mm.
This shaving brush is made from organic, natural, solid wood and will distort if put near a heat source such as a radiator, it will also discolour if left in direct sunlight. The item you see here is the one you will receive and I have aimed to provide dimensions which are as accurate as possible. Please note that wood is a natural product and can be affected by its environment.
