Welcome to my Folksy shop.
My great passion is nature in all her forms . I try through my artwork to give a feeling of the beauty and mystery of landscapes animal and birds .
Using natural products is important , so wool ,wood ,silk ,cotton and linen are my main supplies .
I live in York , so am surrounded by the beautiful landscape and coastline of the Yorkshire Dales and Moors .
I have pieces at sale price , these are items from older collections , but still beautiful!

I love using the combination of paint and hand stitching, and wanted to experiment with the embroidery in one area of the canvas.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

Full description
Painted canvas with hand embroidered kingfisher sitting on a branch.
The stretched canvas first has an ink wash .
The branch is painted with thick acrylic paint, and the bark is created by lifting the paint in places.
Next kingfisher is painted, and then using hand embroidery, all the feathers are filled in.
A few french knots are used for texture on the bark.
On a 10 x 8 inch stretched canvas, backed with white linen. Hanging bar.
