Our inspiration was to put in some romance into our shop, we have created different types of wooden hearts hung on a vegan friendly necklace. Giving you jewellery with the minimum of metal, just natural organic materials, warm to the touch. Hand cut and designed in Devon. To finish the pendant we used a couple of coats of Carnauba wax to give a gentle lustre finish. Carnauba wax is a palm tree oil based extract and so it’s a vegan friendly coating to our pendants. A perfect gift for a loved one or treat yourself, make today a special day.

Full description
This wooden heart is made from a mixture of black Walnut and wormy Ash, hung on a brown vegan friendly suede cord necklace with a wood dowel clasp. The necklace uses a wood toggle and a loop in the suede necklace, similar to a duffle coat. Initially, the timbers were glued together with epoxy resin and the woods are laid as laminates, for the stability of the wood and the look of the pendant. The wormy ash was treated for woodworm several months before we used it, then coated with resin to stabilise the ash. The shape was handmade by me with a fret saw. Due to the size of the heart and the chisels I used this was a job that needed care and a delicate touch.

Pendant Height 3.85cm x 3.1cm width x 1.12cm depth. Weight: 7.6 grams
This necklace is made from organic, natural, solid wood and will distort if put in water or to near a heat source, they will discolour if left in direct sunlight.
To care for this item, feed the wood with wax or similar when required. The item you see here is the one you will receive and I have aimed to provide dimensions which are as accurate as possible. Please note that wood is a natural product and can be affected by its environment.
