I live in the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where the Victorian Poet Laureate, Lord Alfred Tennyson was born. It is said that the Wolds had a great influence on his works, and so I thought, what better than to name this gorgeous necklace after my favourite poem.
"The Lady of Shalott"
In the stormy east-wind straining,
The pale yellow woods were waning,
The broad stream in his banks complaining,
Heavily the low sky raining
Over tower'd Camelot;
Outside the isle a shallow boat
Beneath a willow lay afloat,
Below the carven stern she wrote,
The Lady of Shalott.
This beautiful necklace is a harmony of rose, green, and gold, and features my unique hand painted bellflowers in two sizes. Layers of antiqued brass bead caps sit above the flowers with 4mm rose shimmer crystals above these. The dangles are made up of a repeat of the 4mm rose crystals along with 6mm olivine round crystals capped with more antiqued brass. These dangle from large brass oval links along with three hand wire wrapped Czech glass green and rose iridescent leaves. It hangs from a floral antiqued brass 3-way connector and is 3.5in in length.
I have used the same crystals in the necklace and wire wrapped a repeat of the lovely iridescent leaves between the crystals. It is finished with a quality old gold link chain and Tierracast floral brass toggle clasp.
