Full description
These pretty earrings are made from 8 mm non-magnetic hematite beads, hand wrapped in a delicate knot work of sterling silver wire and finished with a simple pair of sterling silver ear wires. They are a beautiful gunmetal grey with a subtle glossy finish and a great size of earring for wearing everyday. This style of earring measures approximately 27 mm from the top of the ear wire by 9 mm wide. Please check all sizes carefully as I use close up photography to show the details of my work.
Each pair I make is slightly different due to the nature of hand wrapping and characteristics of natural gemstones so there may be slight variations between the illustrative photos and the finished item you will receive. I will instinctively hand select a pair of beautiful beads and your earrings will be made to order.
The name hematite comes from the Greek word "haima" meaning blood. The high iron content of the stone meant it could be ground up to form a red pigment and it was used by warriors to paint their bodies before battle to give them courage and strength. Crystal collectors believe hematite to be an excellent grounding and balancing stone, helping the bearer to find their centre and to repel negative energy.
My jewellery comes boxed in a high quality gift box, finished with tissue and ribbon.
