Lighthouses hold a certain intrigue for many people, myself included. They are beautiful structures for a start, but is there also something about their role as protectors, standing tall and sturdy, often on remote coastlines, warning mariners of impending danger? They are also quite literally beacons of light in the darkness.

Full description
An original oil painting of a white lighthouse standing tall above the large, imposing rocks it warns mariners to be wary of. Behind it, a grey cloud-filled sky hangs heavy and expectant, as if warning the lighthouse to expect the worst.
