Full description
Moonlit Cottage is a piece of mounted textile art featuring a cottage amongst trees and fields, under a moonlit sky. The sky is made from dark blue fabric with an abstract ivory pattern that resembles clouds. The moon is ivory satin. The cottage, fields and trees are all cut from areas of the pattern of two similar print fabrics in different colourways. The result is a beautifully co-ordinated combination of shades of lilac, turquoise, duck-egg blue and cream. I've used free-motion embroidery to add detailing to the cottage and trees, and also around the moon. The artwork is mounted on a square acid-free backing board and finished with a white aperture mount, and is ready to be framed. It is presented in a cellophane sleeve for protection.
This piece of unique and original textile art would add interest to any wall, and would make a lovely gift.
The approximate measurements of the artwork are:
Mount - approx. 8 inches (20cm) square. Aperture/textile art – approx. 6 inches (15cm) square.
