I have a love of beautiful yarns and also a fascination for knitting lace from different traditions. I will often take techniques from more than one tradition and fuse them in one item. For this scarf I used techniques and patterns which were used in England during the Victorian era.

Full description

I have hand knitted this lace scarf in a luxury alpaca and silk mix yarn. The fibre mix of alpaca and silk give the scarf a beautiful drape.

The pattern is from the book of Victorian lace by Jane Sowerby. It consists of two lace borders with a central panel of faggot stitch.

The basic colour of the scarf is a dark inky blue with orange, green and yellow highlights.

As the scarf contains no wool it could be suitable for those people who are unable to wear wool.

Dimensions

106 cm long, 37 cm wide.

Care instructions

The scarf should be washed by hand. It may be given a short spin or rolled in a towel to remove excess water. It should be reshaped whilst damp and dried flat.

Please note that the colour accuracy of the photos may vary according to individual computer screens.

The item will be sent to you via Royal mail 'Tracked' 24 delivery.
