This beautiful custom made large handmade chess set based on the folk tales of Reynard the Fox from the 12th and 13th centuries, has been lovingly created to the designs produced by the great German painter Wilhelm Kaulbach for Goethe's translations of the tales in the late 1800's.

This is a truly remarkable set and is a real eye catcher. The pieces are large and heavy making this set an absolute please to play with.

Reynard the king stands tall at around 19 cm tall and the pawns are 11 cm tall making this chess set a real statement piece.

This set is cold cast and is finished in antique white and metallic gold paintwork.
