Full description
This listing is for two 2.6cm Dorset buttons. I made these by using various techniques of winding cotton thread around brass rings. I have left threads attached for you to use when applying them to your project. These are a medium green and pale pink. The thread is high quality perle cotton which has an attractive sheen.
They could be used as functional buttons or as a decorative feature on bags, clothing, headbands etc. or could be made into jewellery.
The creation of Dorset buttons was originally a large cottage industry in Dorset, England between 1622 and 1850, after which they were overtaken by machine-made buttons. This ancient craft is undergoing a revival and I love making them with modern materials and to contemporary designs.
These buttons measure 2.6cm (1.15") in diameter.
I can make these in different colours, sizes and quantities. I am happy to discuss custom orders.
