CIRCULAR CROCHET CROSSBODY BAG OR PURSE
I crocheted this cute crossbody purse from a multitude of pure wool yarns which I had handspun. I used a variety of crochet stitches to give interest and texture. Colours include shades of purple, blue, turquoise, plus cream and there is also a little sparkle. It has a long corded strap which is long enough to wear 'crossbody' or over the shoulder. For closure I made a Dorset button in purple and lilac cotton thread woven over a brass ring. A double cord forms a loop to fasten over the button and the two ends of the cords finish in toning glass beads. Dorset buttons were made in England before the mass production of buttons. Please see all the photos.
Please note that this bag is not lined so caution should be used when carrying very small items. It would be ideal for carrying a few essentials like a coin purse, tissues, make up, glasses etc.
The bag measures 5.5" (14cm) tall by 7" (18cm) wide and the strap measures 56" (142cm) long. If you find the strap a little long, just tie a slip knot in it. Crossbody bags are so practical when walking, shopping, riding, cycling etc as your hands are free.
