The death's head hawk-moth is nocturnal and is found mostly in the East and South of England, in organic potato fields, allotments and gardens (according to butterfly-conservation.org).
I thought it was a good subject for Halloween ...

Hand-carved linocut printed with gold ink on 100% cotton rag black Somerset Velvet 250gsm printmaking paper, signed and titled in gold on the back
Original linocut in un-numbered edition, very slightly variable as printed by hand
Image size 110mm x 90mm, paper size 175mm x 175mm
Linocut is sold unframed, and sent in a card-backed recyclable clear protective sleeve, packaged with more cardboard
I will donate 20% of item price to butterfly-conservation.org
