I'd never carved birch before, so this was a nice opportunity. I quite like carving old dry wood sometimes, it always surprises you with the nicest patterns on the inside.

Full description
This crochet hook has been hand-carved by me from dry birch wood. Dry wood is sometimes slightly harder to carve, but it's always got the best patterns, so there's a lot of detail in the wood, adding a bonus visual treat!
The wood is untreated, but has been polished to be completely smooth so as to not snag. It's been test driven to ensure ultimate smoothness, and will get shinier with use!
The handle is about 8mm thick, overall length of the hook is about 123mm.
