As well as the fact that I love bread (baking it and eating it!) this playful collection was
also inspired by the 1990s anthem by Sir Mix-a-Lot ‘Baby got Back’, of which the first
line is ‘I like big butts’ - but in this case it is ‘I like big buns’! My Big (Northern) Buns
design pays homage to the range of bread buns/rolls (sweet and savoury) found primarily
in the North of the UK, including: Stottie, Rowies (aka Aberdeen Butteries), tea cake,
morning roll, barm cake, Whitby lemon bun, bap, Selkirk bannock, scufflers and
bannocks. Original ink and watercolour illustrations with hand lettering.

Who doesn't like a big bun? From Geordie stotties, to Yorkshire Scufflers, Lancashire Barm Cakes to Scottish Bannocks, we've got a lot of different kinds here in the North of the UK - and they're all featured in my Big (Northern) Buns collection!
Also a cheeky reference to the 1990s Sir Mix-a-Lot classic 'Baby Got Back'.
