Full description
Bookmark featuring a rising full moon over the night-time countryside. This textile art bookmark is made from a variety of layered fabrics and has been free-motion and hand embroidered. The design depicts a beautiful countryside landscape with little trees on the horizon, silhouetted against the rising full moon. The sky is made from a dark blue velvety fabric. The fields are made from layered fabrics, which include a bright turquoise fabric with a textured pattern and slight sheen, a gold satin, and a dark turquoise fabric. To the front of the scene, I’ve added delicate free-motion embroidered stems with hand embroidered French knot flowers in duck-egg blue. The moon is made from ivory satin and the trees are made from charcoal fabric. I've added some tiny hand embroidered sheep. The bookmark is backed with fabric with an abstract pattern of rectangular shapes in shades of blue, grey and silver. It has an inner layer of stiffening interfacing, and zig-zag stitched navy blue edging.
This lovely landscape bookmark would make an ideal gift for anyone who loves reading and the countryside. It is also an inexpensive way of owning a piece of original textile art.
