I like to use every scrap of fabric and lace in my work, which is where the inspiration for this brooch came from.

Full description
This brooch has been made using a variety of fabric and antique and vintage lace scraps. The base of the front is made from wool tweed that has had the various pieces of fabric kantha-stitched to it. The scraps of lace were added next, followed by the faux metal padlock.
The back if the back of the brooch is made of a green cotton that I've stitched a vintage, unused safety pins enabling the brooch to be pinned to clothing etc and an Elsie May and Bertha label. The front and back of the brooch were then whip-stitched together.
Lastly, the beads hanging at the bottom of the brooch were added.
