Full description
Wild Swimmers - Some hardy souls taking to a natural swimming spot.
Limited edition of only 21 prints in total.
Each print is hand signed. (Part of this edition was printed on heavier card and will be listed separately)
Five colour reduction lino-cut hand printed using Caligo Safe Wash oil-based inks.
In this print I used a number of different inks and mixed them including Phthalo Green, Yellow Ochre, Rubine Red, Process Yellow, Prussian Blue and White
Printed on Japanese Ho-Sho paper. This paper is slightly off white and due to the nature of the paper may have the odd speckle in it.
Paper size 25.5 cm x 19.7cm
Reduction linocut is a type of block printing in which each colour layer is carved into the same lino block.
Part of the design is carved into the block and printed. The process is then repeated for each individual shade or colour. In some prints I may carve the same block up to 6 times.
In between each colour I re-carve the block and wait for the previous colour to dry.
my designs are printed working from the lightest colour first and the darkest colour / outline last.
The lino cannot be reused. If I wanted to recreate the print it would mean starting again with a new block and redrawing and carving the design.
