I was inspired to revisit lino printing after meeting a printmaker who kindly showed me his studio and offered me some advice. I have spent most days since drawing, carving and printing.

Full description

I have spent the last year working on a number of lino-cuts experimenting with different paper and ideas from my own drawings and illustrations.

As a cat lover I have done a number of cat lino cuts and this print of a cat on the table ignoring a fish is one of my favourites.

Limited edition of only 12 prints. Each print is hand signed.

Three colour reduction lino-cut hand printed using Caligo Safe Wash oil-based inks.

In this print I used Process and Prussian Blue and White

Printed on Japanese Ho-Sho paper. This paper is slightly off white and due to the nature of the paper may have the odd speckle in it.

Paper size 25.5 cm x 19.7cm

Image size is approximately 20.2 x 13.2 cm

To make the print the lino is gradually cut away for each different shade or colour. Each colour is applied to the paper separately by placing the paper onto the lino before rubbing over with pressure by hand. Each print dries whilst I cut away for the next colour.

Due to the nature of the process each print varies slightly from the next.
