One glance at my shop and you'll know I can't resist a rainbow. There's something very satisfying about seeing colours arranged in wavelength order to cover the whole spectrum of visible light. This silk warp was hand dyed in Wales (not by me, I'm no dyer) creating a unique pattern of colours which needed very little added to it so I've chosen a very plain (yet luxurious merino and silk mix) weft yarn

Full description
Hand woven silk and merino scarf or wrap in rainbow shades with a subtle grey pattern. This is a soft drapey fabric which would be cosy in winter but also cool enough for a Summer's evening
I wove this scarf on my rigid heddle loom using a pure tussah silk warp (see below) that was hand dyed in Wales. I've paired the colourful warp with a subtle grey weft in a merino and silk mix. The twill design adds texture and pattern to the ends of the scarf with a mesmerising zigzag weave along the length
Each of my handwoven pieces is finished with a sustainable cork label and will be packaged ina gift box.
The scarf contains pure silk (warp) and 50% merino wool, 50% silk (weft) yarns, I suggest you handwash and dry it flat.
The scarf is a unique one off measuring 196cm long (including a 10cm fringe at each end) and approximately 30cm wide.
The 'warp' refers to the threads running up and down the length of the fabric. The 'weft' runs across the fabric, weaving in and out of the warp on the loom
