Item details

Sustainability is at the core of my work. All of my work is made using my own clay mix which includes locally foraged clay.

This glaze is inspired by the sea. I'm a scuba diver and the glaze reminds me of days out on the dive boat, far from land. It's the inky, but yet vibrant blue you get (even in the UK!) when the sea is deep, clear and calm. The way the glaze flows creating the white flow lines, perfectly represents the wake of the boat or the crest of a wave.

The sea is a very special nad compelling place for me, and I hope this mug conveys some of my love for it!

Full description

There's just something about a handmade mug, and this one will quickly become your favourite! The balance, the weight, the shape, the comfort of the handle, the 'mouth feel', and perhaps above all, the wonderfully rich and flowy deep sea blue glaze make this a mug to cherish!

The mug is fully microwave and dishwasher safe.

All of my work is made using my own special clay mix which includes clay that I forage from within 5 miles of my studio. I also have a strong focus on sustainability – my kiln is powered by solar panels, I have literally zero clay or glaze waste (all recycled into the next batches), and I only use recyclable packaging materials.
