I hadn't done a pencil drawing for some time, and I had one half finished that I didn't want to risk spoiling by being out of practice, so I decided to try this smaller drawing first to get a feel for the pencils once more. It also gave me a great opportunity to try to depict stone, wood and other materials in black and white rather than the colours of pastel.

Full description
This drawing shows a wooden doorway and entrance as part of an old stone and log cabin with a thatched roof. It is based on a screenshot I took while playing the computer game Skyrim® and came about because I wanted to try a smaller but still detailed picture. Naturally, it had to be signed by 'carving my initials' into the wooden support beam on the left.
This is a small drawing, measuring 17.5 x 10 cm (or 24.5 x 17 cm including its cream-coloured mount). It would make a lovely free-standing artwork for display on a shelf or mantlepiece, or could be wall mounted in a smaller room. The neutral colours of the drawing will allow it to work in any frame suitable for the décor of the room.
