The history behind this the Lewis set is quite fascinating, The pieces belong to the Scandinavian world, which at this time the Hebrides were part of. Around the time the hoard of chess pieces was buried, Lewis belonged to the kingdom of Norway and the culture was a mix of Gaelic and Scandinavian. They were originally carved from Walrus Ivory nd were discovered in a sand bank in 1831.
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.

Full description
This Chess set is a copy of the original 12th century pieces discovered in the 1800s. The original pieces are currently on show in the British Museum.
We make the set with Stonecast and can finish it in you prefered colours, please choose from the dropdown box. Each pice is also finished with felt bases to reduce risks of scratching surfaces.
