I found the pattern in a magazine and liked the short, waist length style. It would look lovely over a gathered dress or skirt.

Full description
This cardigan is hand knitted in a dusky pink merino wool.
It is a short waist length cardigan with a twisted stitch pattern round the bottom. It has a round neck and fastens at the front with five pearly pink buttons.
The borders and neckline are worked in garter stitch.
The yarn used is 100%merino wool and is machine washable.
The pattern size used is for a 9-12 month old baby and measures 54cm round the chest, 22cm in length and the underarm sleeve length is 17cm.
