Full description
A gorgeous thrown ‘lava fleck’ stoneware bowl which has been carved and shaped before being hand-painted with red underglaze - the inside has been coated with transparent gloss glaze. Carved hexagon bottom with my maker’s mark.
Lava fleck clay produces gorgeous ‘marmite’ coloured flecks after the second firing. These appear randomly and show up through the underglaze colours.
I am selling this piece a 'second' as the transparent glaze has gone a little bit milky in places - this does not affect the functionality of the product.
This is high fired stoneware and suitable for food use.
