Full description
There is a tradition of bead making in Africa that goes back centuries and these sand glass beads are made in the traditional way with the addition of colour and recycled glass. Matching European green glass round beads and silvertone ones have been added so that they hang more evenly, as the African tube beads are often cut on the slant and the way that they are made (using banana leaf stems to make the holes) mean that the holes don't always go straight down the middle.
